Has anyone ever had this happen? What is it? Will it harm my hen? I have no idea who laid it.

That's crazy looking! I've never seen anything like that before. Almost looks like an alien dinosaur egg! Not sure what it is, hopefully some others chime in!

It’s so weird! The outer brown blobby thing (i have no idea what else to call it) was rubbery and in between the blob and the egg inside of it was a yolk (scrambled). The egg had a yolk and everything in it.

That looks like lash material around the egg. Do you know which of your hens laid that?
Lash eggs are a result of a reproductive disease.
ETA: Sluffing of the lining. Perhaps in the shell gland

I looked up lash egg and it doesn’t look like what I have. I have no idea who laid it.
