Eye lice

I think they drink from the eyes. :sick

Like everyone else suggested, treat with permethrin dust or spray. When I dust their heads I apply the powder with my fingers and avoid the eyes.
The rooster from a few months ago didn't get lice this time, but I did find one on the peafowl. I dusted them and cleaned out the coop yesterday.
Personally, I prefer dusting birds since I can work the dust into the feathers better, I do put it on there head and neck too, but I put the dust in a sock so I can control the dust a little better.
That's a good idea. I might try that when I dust them again. I have a question. I have 3 cockerels that I dusted. We don't have room for them and they're ready to be butchered any day. Do we need to wait a while since I dusted them or will they be ok.

There's no withdrawal period when using a permethrin based poultry dust or spray.

I've literally just had the same issue with my girl, thousands of lice all hanging out around her eyes! I rubbed them off and she really enjoyed that but then more came. Probably because I got the blood flowing in that area so I won't be doing that again. I've ordered some lice drops for pigeons on Amazon so they should be here any day now. Poor angel is already sick with doughy crop. I didn't even notice the lice until I was treating her for doughy crop!
