The rooster from a few months ago didn't get lice this time, but I did find one on the peafowl. I dusted them and cleaned out the coop yesterday.I think they drink from the eyes.
Like everyone else suggested, treat with permethrin dust or spray. When I dust their heads I apply the powder with my fingers and avoid the eyes.
That's a good idea. I might try that when I dust them again. I have a question. I have 3 cockerels that I dusted. We don't have room for them and they're ready to be butchered any day. Do we need to wait a while since I dusted them or will they be ok.Personally, I prefer dusting birds since I can work the dust into the feathers better, I do put it on there head and neck too, but I put the dust in a sock so I can control the dust a little better.
