Yep, they're thread checkers for determining thread size.... I don't find them to be that useful that often, but every now and again, when you loose a nut or bolt that is some odd size they save the day... particularly on machinery where you can't just take it in to the hardware store and check size there.

And I have used them to sort out misc hardware too.

I have cards with threads on them for that. much less bulky.

Not sure, but they look like they could be used to drive/press bearings on or off....
But the sizes would be limited.

I have cards with threads on them for that. much less bulky.

yep, i've seen those too, this style just hangs from a nail so not bulky in that regard, but they are a little more flexible in that they can be used to check a bored hole on a piece of equipment in the field, etc. where it is not possible to get the card style in tight spaces in the same way... not sure it's something i would purchase today, but there was a time I had more need for them

uhhhh... let's see... the piece on the right is a die cutter for punching a hole, the other two pieces are used together to install something onto the thing the hole is punched in

Yep it's for installig "gourmet" grommets into a tarp.. similar to this video ... I really think that brown plastic thing in the first picture is part of it, but I don't recall for sure.

I have a few of them..Like you I own 2-4 of everything I need...just cannot find them at the right moments..
