my neighbor down the road a piece is worse because he had two of everything then he inherited all of his dad's stuff, who had two of everything... so now he has 4 of everything!

Nope, it's wood to wood..

...the larger threads go into a a drilled pilot hole of one piece, and then second piece is slipped over the fine threads and then the "star"shaped washer is tightened to draw the two pieces together and hold them together... it's used in a lot of homes but not all homes..

...but where in the home?

it's about 3.5 to 4 inches long

Flipped right side up, from left to right: the Long Crested Hammer, the Low Creased Hammer, and the Northern Stubby Hammer

I have no idea for the first two, but I'm going to guess the last is a mallet. Idk much about tools.
