I’m familiar with a ‘sharp shooter’ tile spade, but never saw the slotted one!

I think they were mainly used in peat.

Nope, not a tulip tree ( I noticed tonight the tulip poplars here are leafing out right now but not bloomed by the way)

I do not see any “north” under the green.. it all looks South to me.
