Poplar of some sort?

I replied late, but yes, correct! It was actually from a 4 foot tall Black Poplar.

That’s interesting! I didn’t realize some of the poplars came from Europe.

I think giant leaves on small trees must be programmed into certain species to help them compete... I see it on sycamores and hickory sapling a lot here too.
