But I have never even heard of one of them let alone see one...

Ive never been to Cuba... tho’...

I see now -on a zoom in- knit picks is labeled on there. I think Shaw (Eileen) got ‘er there with yarn wrapping post. I knew what you meant.

Such a silly thing. Who unwinds their yarn to balls anymore? Do they not know that the cylindrical skeins today have been wound so that the string end comes out from the center of the end? No more ball rolling away as you pull more yarn. You don't need to handle the skein at all. Just keep knitting. No tangled mess to prevent. I've never rolled a yarn ball. Yarn has been in such skeins since I was a kid and I'm pushing 69.

Well. . I had the right idea but I actually thought maybe it made "skeins"
But I didn't know what the word for that was.
I guess some people will always prefer balls .
