Noticed this yesterday when we turned our rooster over to give him an injection. It’s near his breast bone. Any ideas as to what it is? I put some vermectin on it as it looks like at one time he pecked at it.

If it is near his breastbone (keel) it may be a bepreast blister. Those can be common when sleeping on the floor or on a rough roost. If the bedding is damp or soiled, the breast blister may abscess. It can be treated with Betadine, Chlorhexidene, or Vetericyn.
