What is this ??

PLEASE someone tell me what this is? It has a broken wing and is at the community College with HER BABY and I need to know if it is a domestic duck or what? I am so worried someone dumped these animals at the pond that has 4 bog turtles that usually get the Mallards babies so I am worried. The baby is swimming by itself. I have not seen these ducks there before and the Canadian geese pick on the Mama duck. Please help me identify it. Any and all suggestions appreciated

Both Snow and Ross’s Geese are possibilities where you are now because of migration. I doubt these are domestic versions.

Let me try this again: either a snow goose or it's smaller version, Ross's Goose. I think she is a snow goose. They come in a white morph and a blue morph. I think this is a mix.

I would say @Offshoreorca is correct. My first thought was “that’s a goose, not a duck.” Haha.

looks similar to the juvenile white morph, to me, but I don’t know a thing about them other than what I just looked up. Haha.

Next big question is how did they JUST show up at the pond? Neither the Mama goose or baby can't fly? The baby swims all by himself, I have never seen that with geese or ducks.

Not a clue. I'm no water fowl expert. I'm thinking this is a job for your DNR and a rehab home. Best of luck, keep us posted?

She may have been injured in mid-migration, and now they are stuck there.
She is a very pretty bird.
