Could this be a domestic goose? Why does the baby stay by itself? She/he disappears underwater all the time and drives me crazy because there are 4 huge turtles on this pond that eats half the Mallard babies that are born here. She comes up with worms from underneath when he/she goes under sometimes. It is so cute I want it to live so bad.

duck and geese babies can swim by themselves very soon after they hatch.
