Looks like a hen laid a shell less egg and the hens ate some of it. That's membrane.

How old are your birds and
What exactly do you feed them?

They are a year and we have been free ranging and feather fixer because a lot of them were molting over the winter.

Also there was a broken egg in the box so its possible it was attached to a full egg but when we found it it was like this.

That's probably it. I'm thinking more of a shell less egg, but it could be that too. It's obviously membrane.
