Got it out of a bin labeled
“Straight Run Bard Rock, Buff Orpington, Jersey Giant” and the guy said “oh yeah, I forgot there’s cuckoo maran”

I thought jersey giant but the white on (hopefully) her wing

Feet appear to foretell a Jersey Giant.

I feel like the reason they were so cheap was because it was actually all the males. lol

They claimed straight run but I just feel like they are all roosters

A lot of black breeds have white under feathers as chicks. They will eventually molt out.

I thought jersey giant but the white on (hopefully) her wing

It's too early to know the gender, but it's a Jersey Giant. For some reason I don't know, all black chickens when they first get their wing feathers have that little white patch. If it was a Cuckoo Maran she would have stripes very similar to what you would expect with a Barred Rock.

I kinda hoped maybe I accidentally got a cuckoo maran after the fact because I don’t have that egg color but I selected it thinking it was Jersey Giant.
