Found it this morning beneath their roosting perch. No one is behaving abnormally or sick. No blood on any vent. Never seen anything like this before. It is jelly- solid texture.

Hard to tell what that is. If you still have it, can you take it out of the bag and cut it open?

It's about the right color for an Intact Follicle, but it looks slightly long, but perhaps it's been smushed.

Omg that's exactly it! It was like the red ping pong ball in the one Pic but had gotten squished. So it's a follicle. Huh. I'd never have guessed that. I do have a hen who has started acting similar to egg bound: in/out of box all day, droopy, reduced intake, depressed. Last night she laid a shell-less egg... (saw it on camera)... so maybe she's the culprit who laid the weird red thing too, although it was found underneath a perch she doesn't sleep on. For the time being we will treat with calcium tablets, Epsom salt baths and electrolytes since our vet isn't open until Monday and there aren't any emergency vets within 4 hours who treat chickens, so I can't take her in until Monday anyway. I want able to dissect the tissue due to hubby taking the trash out on time (for once- figures). But next time, if there is a next time, I know to do that now. Thank you!
