Do you see how one side of each chicks chest appears bigger than the other side? I have 12 japanese black tailed white bantams and 14 golden laced sebright chicks that are about 2 months old. It is more apparant on the japanese because they don't have a dark lacing pattern, but I do notice it on the sebrights a bit too. Should I be concerned?

I feed them chick medicated starter. I also let them roam in the yard every day for an hour or more. I have feed them TINY pieces of bread. Maybe I shouldn't have? They love to eat the grass.

Any help would be appreciated!!

REALLY??? wow! Am I feeding them too much you think? I leave food and water out for them at all times. Now, what they eat out of the yard, it's a whole different story. I've seen them chomp on grass, bugs, worms, dirt, just about anything. I guess I should stop giving them the bread. They just love it though, they come running and will fly up on my shoulder.............I just love it!!!!!

I once thought one of my chicks had a tumor in her neck, and it was only a full crop. Whew! Thank goodness someone here on BYC told me to check it again in the morning because it would probably be gone after the food got moved out of the crop. Double whew!
