The eggs were LA and all look right but this one and havent ever seen anything like it. Figured the pheasant pros might have

Its definately male but way too light. Looks almost dusky grey.

Yes,some type of yellow golden.The 1 in the back is a lady amherst.What makes you so sure it's a male?Looks like a female to me.

Was for sure male though. JJ told me to look you up on this. The egg this pheasant came from was a group of amhearst and all looked exactly the same. I would also be almost positive that there wasnt any chance of mix from who I got the eggs from as he is 1 of the most non mix tolerable people I know lol.
I am definately going to be asking him a few questions being like I said the egg looked no different from all the others that hatched out amhearst.

He may have bought crossbred birds without knowing it.This could be a throw back from previous crossbreeding.It is very hard to find any pure amherst.There are a few breeders that have pure birds and have the documents on them.If I had the $,I to would have F 1 amherst,but I don't think I would have that kinda $ to spend on a bird like an amherst.Now palawans,that's a different story.

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY... ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY CAME FROM AMHURST EGGS (MIKEY KNOWS EGGS... HE STATED HE GOT ALL EGGS AT THE SAME TIME FROM THE SAME SOURCE, SAW THE PARENTS, AND THAT ALL EGGS WERE IDENTICAL- WHEN ASKED HE DESCRIBED AMHURST TYPE EGGS) SO THE 1ST THING THAT JUMPED TO MY MIND WERE CROSSBREDS. IF THIS IS THE CASE, GIVEN THAT THE GENE POOL IS SO CONTAMINATED, HE MAY NOT EVEN KNOW HIS BIRDS ARENT PURE?​
