What is this?

yea thats what im thinking. my parents got some from ideal and im waiting to see if they actually get that tall:
This hard-feathered old breed arrived in England from Asia, possibly as early as 1830. It was a very popular fowl in England until it lost favor due to the popularity of the newly introduced Cochins.
BBR Malays were admitted to the APA's Standard in 1883. At present, Black, White, Spangled, and Red Pyle are also recognized, as well as Wheaten females. Cocks should weigh 9 pounds and hens 7.
These birds are very long-legged, and the broad skull and projecting eyebrows give them a sinister expression. Malays have a strawberry comb. The outline of the back, from head to tip of tail, should describe 3 convex curves. They have yellow skin and lay dark brown eggs quite infrequently.
One of the Game Fowl, originally used for cock-fighting, the Malay is quite pugnacious. It is intolerant of other roosters and may attack anyone who goes near it's hens.

It does look like the chick pictures! Good call hdowden! The fuzz still seems weird, but I hope it will grow out of it soon :P

i think my parents chicks are older by a month and they still have some baby fuzz due to their slow maturity rate

I googled some pictures of the malay.. and it does seem to look like it. No wonder it looked so different from my chickens LOL!

Is it the same age as your naked necks? They look much younger than 3 months.
I just can't fathom a chick having fuzz at 12 weeks old. It just doesn't seem possible to me, but what do I know?

No its older than the naked necks Im not really sure how old the NNs are but for sure younger... although they are fully feathered way way before him lol.

Well, you learn something new every day, especially on BYC! Looked at Malay pics online (after sifting through all the recipes!) and they certainly are a distinctive bird. Looks like they are walking on stilts! The chicks definitely look like the mystery chick, especially that curved beak. Good call hdowden! Still think you should call him Churkey.
