What is this?

When I first saw the chick I thought it looked like a Malay or Shamo or one of the other oriental game birds. Very perhistoric-looking. I also just checked McMurray and they don't sell them, just a BBR Modern Game, whick is very close but they should have a straight comb and this def looks pea/cushion/strawberry. Curious.

I also thought a really ugly (sorry) Dark Cornish? The comb is right and maybe its ust the teenager phase? I will go with this as my default becasue nothing else comes close.
Yeah it has a flat comb.. and yeah it is very ugly, but dont dark cornish grow semi fast? This thing is like a bantam, could be a dark cornish bantam though, but when I remeber when this was a chick (when I first got them) it was same size as the others... I'll end up selling "it" at the livestock auction in a few months cause I don't want bantams in my flock. Or perhaps sell to a BYC member if they want him/her

You have to get photos of the little guy before shipping off (and post them, of course)--I am really interested to see what happens when he grows out a little!

I have Dark Cornish for the first time so I did not know what to expect from them. I worried that they would be mean and also bully the other chickens. I expected them to have little short legs like in the pictures, too. The first pic is my pullet beside two other chickens of the same age. 2 nd pic is of My 2 roos with BR roos the same age. The 3rd pic is of my dominant Cornish roo. He does not fight or pick on any of the other birds unless they are causing trouble. The other roo is the same...he doesn't fight either...of course unless one of the other roos pick the fight.
They are now about 3 1/2 to 4 weeks old. My roosters now have many more black feathers along with the green and blue shine. As you can see, my hen (1st pic) has kept her brown feathers (what pattern is that called laced?) They are really pretty birds.
I have some younger birds that have gone in to the yard (they can still get in their pen to escape) now. My Barred Rock roosters pick on the chicks. One even hunts for them to peck. I have added more "hideouts" for the chicks. Anyway, when my Corninsh roosters see the commotion, one will run over and make the older one stop.
They are wary of me but have gotten so they will sometimes come over and 1 yesterday actually took some seeds from my fingerswhile I was sitting on the lawn outside the pen and they were out.
I never thought I would like them! I just wanted them for meat and for crosses. I am now keeping more of them that I had originally planned.

Actually the black chicken in the rear in the 2nd pic may be my Australorp. Just by looking at the tail! So the one if front of her would be a Cornish.

Deb is a beautiful hen! OP, your pullet looks like its going through that awkward stage. I'm sure in a few months your pullet will be beautiful. :)

Yes, I think it will too. Those feathers will grow back and I think it looks very much like mine. I think I saw. There are bantam Cornish.
I liked mine so much I ordered 10 more (I wanted more hens) and they are the same size as my Faverolles that are the same age. They are actually taller but it looks like to me that Faverolles have short legs and they certainly look fatter.
Nicole01TY She is turning out prettier than I expected. I was afraid her color wasn't going to be right. I just haven't seen young chickens that are growing other than BR, RIR and BRxRIR crosses. I didn't realize that the color changes so much after they grow in their baby feathers. All of that yellow and spots on the wings went away,
