In my coop with my chicks!
My chickens just started laying again now that its warmer and jelly bean the smallest hen layed this tiny egg thats the size of a bottle cap. Is this normal? And I also noticed it had little growths on it. Is that normal too?

The growths are calcium deposits i think which can be normal. http://www.mypetchicken.com/backyar...ns-egg-shells-have-rough-patches-and-H81.aspx
I had a chicken lay an egg smaller than that once, i think either young or old chickens( my chicken is on the older side) just weird things happen with egg production. I think yours just calcified the outside of a yolk maybe, instead of producing the whole egg. Regardless if she just started laying eggs again there's bound to be one or two that are off. Ive had chickens lay eggs without shells before, or like i said, really really small ones.
