I have one who does like to look out the back of fence. We have it blocked off so. She doesn't take a trip. Does that mean it came out of the mouth or vent?they like to stick their head through fencing, looks like maybe it got caught for a bit
Thank you Kathy , I can't figure it out they are all eating and going about their business. My Australorp went broody the same day. I'm worried! I'm going to do another serious check when sun goes down. It's been 4 days now or close to.Keep an eye on them and watch for abnormal drainage from their vents.

How old are your hens?It looks just like that but was filled with blood. Any ideas? The yolk seemed to be on the outside and I cannot figure out which one if my ladies did this! Even though I was right theirmy husband said he witnessed 2 of our hens next to my while I was pulling weeds. I didn't see anything on anyone's bums.![]()
Oldest hen is about 14 -16 months others are a year. How old are your hens?
thank you! I will definitely !! I wish I would have saved it. I was in shock however my EE who was close to me has not laid since then. I'm worried about her! I'm hoping I get home and see a green egg. Fingers crossedIf ever you they lay something like that again, ship it off to UC Davis for testing. Testing should be cheap.

Any chance you can take her to a vet and ask the vet to check her for an infection?
