What is to young to worm?

Thank you Steve I am going to visit the site and get all the info. Do you suppose you could make that DE in gelatin caps?

I wonder, could it have the same effect on a human if they put in a gelatin cap. I would be more willing to digest it. If it is mixed with water does it turn to mud, and how do you get over the dirt taste. That was very interesting what you wrote and I have used DE in the nesting boxes, coop, dusting boxes in run (they aren't in the run that much) I add to their food, but probably not enough. I will read the directions and do it right. Thank you again, Michele

When you see D.E. you will laugh. It's a powder and I mix it with Apple cider vinegar and into a morning juice. Bananas and ice ect. You never taste it but its hard to choke down the Apple cider vinegar for me so I put it in my drink. Good luck and see ya around the site. Fun place for sure.

I have a group of 10 girls and I put down a constant flow of food and can not put unmeasured DE in the food and know they each will get a reasonable amount so each day since 2 weeks old I give them a morning treat and they are all little piggy's. I measure 1 table spoon in each treat dish and I put out 2 in the morning and 1 at night. Don't feel bad what in the heck is 5% anyway? I figure that is enough bc it is bio-degradable anyway and can not hurt. Holly smokes I put 5 table spoons in my drink!! but I sip it for an hour or so good morning drink.

I know thats what I was thinking. I think I will be looking for gel caps. Maybe what 5% means is....if you have 40 # of feed you what had 2 1/2 lbs. Why do they have to make things so difficult? I'm glad there's someone else that doesn't want to poison their birds.

For a 5% feed ration, divide the pounds of feed in your bag, feeder, etc by 20. 100 lbs of feed would get 5 pounds, 40 - 2. I add at least two pounds, probably more like three to the entire 40 lb bag and mix the whole thing up. My wife pours it and the feed in at the same time. The chickens like her better so her method is probably best.

Is this what you use instead of worming also? I will be adding in my feed bin verses guessing in feeder. Thanks for the math lesson, I never did well in that subject.
