What Is Up With "Cute"? (Horses)

Generally, if you tell people the truth, about 3 things, they get very angry.

One is their pets.

Two is their horse.

Three is their child.

But if you say "nice tail", even when the person knows their horse is being insulted, they still do usually at least get a little warm spot inside about having its tail admired

That's right, but having been at some shows with people, and then seen how they 'reconstrue' the judge's comments over the following weeks...it's all scary, lol.

I resent that!!! I rarely call a horse cute & if I were to see that Appy stallion your describing the first words outta my mouth would probably be "darn!" followed by "hez beautiful, look at that confirmation!" So

to you lol.

Welsummerchicks has it... "cute" is to horses as "precious" is to babies...

and "special" is to teachers --

that is, the teachers aren't 'special' -- it's a code we use for. ummm. interesting/challenging students --

The funniest thing is that there is an entire population of "nice" men that really think "nice" meant *nice* when someone labeled them that... therefore, don't understand WHY it is that "nice men" finish last...

'Cute' horse
'Precious' baby
'Special' kid
'Nice' man

It's all *code*...

Patandchickens- you're right on, there, too!

Not too long ago, I was looking at possibly one of the fugliest horses I've ever seen, at least conformation wise. It was a paint... well, technically, pinto-- it was grade-- and let the world rejoice, it was uncut.

Anyway... I wasn't intentionally shopping for a fugly horse (though, I do own some of the fuglies), and I was just trying to *exit* the property as quickly as possible before I let it slip just HOW fugly this thing was, and how mortified I was that they allowed it to reproduce. It was, however, a 'pretty color' (shoot me for even admitting that). I guess this was the sole reason it was worshiped by the owner. In a rare PC attempt, I tried to keep my mouth shut by just mentioning it's 'pretty color'. Mistake...

I couldn't leave fast enough after it felt like the owner then felt proud and justified by creating more fugly clones...

I think they would've thought I meant cute if I'd said cute...

(im not a woman) and use cute when im talking about horses. Normally it's when i see a horse that is so-so, dosn't stand out but isn't a bad looking horse either.

I understand the 'cute' looking/acting horse but I am totally clueless as to what a 'cute mover' can mean????
