What is up with my hard-boiled egg?

About 4 weeks ago I came across the egg in the first photo. I have never seen the whites - so not white. The second photo is from yesterday. I am at a loss as to what can be wrong. All my birds are healthy.

Were these eggs subjected to high heat before you collected them? This may darken the white.

Also, poor quality whites in eggs can stem from viral infections in the hen. She may have something that you are not aware of or is not making itself known. Older birds will lay eggs with poor quality whites as well.

You need to crack open a freshly laid egg before you cook them to see what color they are.

By any chance, do you use well water with a high iron content?

Oh....and a lot of green vegetation will cause the whites to be slightly green.

Yeah....you only need to cook quail eggs for a few minutes. I was under the impression that you have done this before and the whites were never white. Maybe you cooked it too long.
