WHAT IS UP WITH THIS EGG?

First time I have ever seen this! Asked a couple people and they had never seen it! What is this coming out of the egg?



Do i need to be worried? Do i need to change something I'm doing?

That is a weird one!

How old is the hen that laid it?....sometimes new layers or old layers will have a weird one once in a while.
Sometimes pieces of tissue will shed out from inside and get caught in the egg.
As long as it doesn't happen again or alot it's probably nothing to worry about.

Here's a thread with lots of weird eggs. Maybe you can find something similar in there?

Newer chickens 7-8 months old, didn't open the egg just put it into the compost. Looked like it was coming out of the egg!

An earth worm crawled in there then poked its head out and barfed its guts out.

Did you break it open when you put it in the compost? I'd want to check it to see if there are further abnormalities inside. That might help you to figure out what the issue is.

chickens are all same age, think I have just one laying bad eggs. Otherwise all the other eggs look great!

If i wore panties it would but i don't think my wife would like how they look on me!
