What is wrong with her eye?

I noticed the black dots the other day and assumed it was mud (because we had gotten quite a bit of rain) but I noticed today that her eye is swollen. Any thoughts as to what it could be? I have some neo/poly b/bac ophthalmic ointment if that would be helpful.

poor baby. Does she have black scabs on her comb and wattles?? If so, maybe dry pox??? If not, it definitely looks like some sort of infection. Maybe a bug bite? Let us know how she does.
