What is wrong with my chickens head!?

The other day I was feeding my chickens and I noticed that my oldest one (she is 5 years old) had a scab sore like thing right near her comb. I don't know how to describe it so here is a photo. I thought it might be a pecking so I looked very carefully when she and the other chickens where walking around. In the past week there have absolutely no pickings. She has also been losing a lot of feathers around the backyard I know there hers beacuse she is the only chicken of that colour. I getting really worried that its something more serious. So thats why I am posting this. I really hope to make her better! (the feather are a photo my daughter took of a few of the feathers)

It looks like she is just molting. Her head looks to be just growing in new pin feathers, those are the feather shafts you are seeing.

To help her through her molt you can give her some high protein treats such as egg, plain yogurt or tuna. They can sometimes be hit hard by a molt appearing depressed and lethargic at times but a few weeks normally sees them through. They can stop laying for the duration and their combs can be pale. But it's all part of it
