Yes they can.
Roo on roo violence is one thing, but a psychotic hen will scorch the earth beneath her....peck, head butt, stomp any bird down....Yes it happens. Few and far between, but it happens. If anyone wants to tame a psycho hen...I have 2 that I will pay you to take

At hatch to. That's when My Delima got tromped by Sumo and I had to wash her off, pat her dry, and put her back in the bator aborting the rest of the hatch.

Joe what do you use to separate the Roos? I hope its not the GQF breeding pens, those would be great but so expensive just to keep a few birds going. But I was thinking a few 15x18's would come in handy for that or to check a hen - is she laying/ is she not. I am trying to talk myself into that Bali Bungalow.

mhwc, I put a little pic up in the 1/1 hatch to remind you of why the Jumbos were developed. Well the main reason, now we have many.
I know blue lights work with the chicken chicks to settle them, if they need added warmth and it doesn't put much light out at all and its very subdued.

I put mine to rest. First 1 got 21 eggs, then 24, 28, last night was 30. They have never slowed down when I move them around or change feed. Now the young uns are pumping them out and the older ones are encouraging them. They really don't like the lack of light, attack my hands when I reach for eggs. I may want to give them a rest, but they obviously don't want one. But I don't want to replace them yet, either. But I am thinking if that Female M Gold pecks my hand again, I am going to have a late night snack.

Buttercup...the pic for the 1/1 hatch looks TEMPTINGLY tasty! The only thing is, is that my E.W.s are real small and it seems hardly worth it to do them in ........2 bites and they'd be gone....cat food maybe?

I still think the sun flares have something to do with it. It is messing with magnetic something or other.
Even my dogs are on edge, but that might be cause of all the duck eggs being set on in the Duck House, too.

Don't personally have a cat,i was just thinking that it would be just punishment for the evil ones....LOL. My EWs are real little ,5-6 months and they're only 4-5oz live.
i'm leaning towards the sun flare theory myself at this point......That and waaaay too much inbreeding of the parent stock.......
only want these guys cuz of the color thing at this point.

THIS IS MUCH MORE COMMON IN BOBS.... THO NOT FROM LACK OF WILLINGNESS, JUST MEAN LIL WENCH. I HAVE 1 THAT GETS A STEADY STREAM OF NEW "PLAYTHINGS" OUT OF MY BACHELOR PEN... 3 DAYS IS ABOUT ALL THE LADS CAN TAKE BEFORE I HAVE TO SWITCH THEM OUT WITH A NEW VICTIM.... BLUE LIGHTS WILL INTENSIFY THE PROBLEM... ITS THE BLUE END OF FULL SPECTRUM LIGHT THAT TRIGGERS BREEDING CYCLES IN BIRDS! THIS IS 1 OF THE PRINCIPAL REASONS THE LED X-MAS LIGHTS WORK SO WELL TO ENDUCING OFF SEASON LAYING IN THESE GUYS... ITS A BLUE-WHITE LIGHT THE LEDS EMIT
