What is wrong with my duck

I have a 1 year old Khaki Campbell and two 4 month old Cayuga Ducks. All male. Since we build the a nice big pond the Khaki Campbell is trying to bit the others in the back of the neck and try to sit on them in the water and i am scared that he will drown them. He never did that in the small pool.
Why he does that i do not know. Can somebody help and tell me why?

I wonder if he is trying to establish pecking order- meaning he is top duck?

He is mating with the other ducks, and also showing he is the boss. You might get some ducklings soon if you are lucky!

Yep. He's just mating. Most ducks like to do it in the water. Some will do it on land.

Ok, I noticed you said they are all male, so I have to go with zooweemama here. He is acting like he wants to mate, but with nothing but males it's more of a dominance thing. They should chill out eventually... he just wants to let the littler ducks know who's boss. I wouldn't worry too much about them drowning unless there is a HUGE size difference or if he's unusually mean with them.

Are you sure the Cayugas are males ? The Campbell may be trying to mate.

Oh, if they are all males he will be making do with what's about! I don't think ducks are very fussy about that sort of thing. One of mine used to try to mate with my chickens and also my shoe!

Be careful about adding any females because then the drakes will get jealous and will start fighting with each other. If you don't want eggs or ducklings then just keep them as they are and after time they will calm down and the mating behaviour will reduce a lot.

Have you got any photos of your ducks? I as very sad to have to re home my last 3 because they were getting eaten (one a week) by a python in the night. Now I just have my chickens (I can lock they in their coop at night). The ducks would not settle in the coop, and would swim to a small island on our pond out of reach of me!

Thank you so much for all your help. There actually are chilling out . It must have been that Louie try to mate. Poor thing is confused Here there are all happy.
