What is wrong with my hens eye??

It looks to me like she has either stick tight fleas or mites around her eyes, as seen in the black dots. Is that what you are seeing? What state do you live in? Can you look her over for bugs? Most insects such as mites, fleas, and lice are safely treated with permethrin, but stick tight fleas may need to be removed with tweezers.
No, she has black dots around her eyes but they are part of her coloring, she's speckled. The part that concerns me is the fuzziness around her eye. She did have a swollen eye about 5 months ago but it went away when I cleaned it.

In the latest picture, she's the one on the left, correct? Molted Orpington? Her comb looks pale pink not RED as in the first pictures you posted, so she's not ready to lay yet. Orpingtons are bigger birds, tend to take a bit longer to mature.

PATIENCE is something layers teach us :) When her comb/wattles are RED & she squats when you try to pick her up, you'll have a few weeks to the first egg. Unless she's hiding them somewhere, they're good at that. You can also measure the space between her pelvic bone 2+ fingers she's ready.

Yes she is the one on the left. What great information! Thank you :)

I agree, there is something going on with that eye. The black specks may be her natural coloring, but the white fuzzy stuff - not sure what that is. Is it on her comb too?

I don't see it on the other side of her face, which is unusual. Check through her head and neck feathers, under her wings and around the vent for lice.

You mention that it's not crusty, but does it have like a leathery feel?

You may want to Google "favus" in chickens, which is a white chalky fungus that can appear on the skin around the face, comb, wattles and ears. Her skin looks dry and flakey, so may be it is just dry skin, especially if she has just been molting. Favus is treated with anti fungal creams such as lotrimin and miconazole, applied daily. You could also try coconut oil instead.

Yes! That must be what it is. Thank you so much! I just got done inspecting it and know it is not just not normal. Thanks so much!
