What is wrong with my male duck's member?

I noticed this hanging from his vent area the other day and it is still present the end of looks deformed and there may have been a little blood on it. Today I saw one of the other ducks snap at it while he was bending over. Is there anything I should do? What is it? It just hangs down all the time and doesn't retract

It's a prolapsed penis, and it looks as if it may have been bitten/injured by flock mates. I'd separate him from the flock, coat the penis with antibiotic ointment and hope that eventually it retracts. Sometimes they become necrotic and must be removed.

It's funny. I have the same thing. I wonder if it's a virus. LOL

This happened to one of my drakes two years ago. He couldn't retract his penis and then his siblings bit the tip of it off. He was in severe pain and wouldn't eat. We culled him.

Thanks for the information about your experience. I was thinking last night that he might have to be culled but I'll just keep watch on him, since he's eating fine and staying with a flock, doesn't seem to be in any distress, I'll keep that option in mind

I will be separating him and keeping him in another cage (as the first commenter recommended) and try to put antibiotic on it like he recommended also , but it's very difficult to keep these ducks clean since they seem to love filth and mud
