Geez, why wouldn't they work WITH YOU? Isn't that what's it's all about?
Can you meet them half way perhaps?

Stay safe, and snuggle up with your silkies....

Lunachick - most social service agencies do not understand the trauma behind an eating disorder like Chillin's. That is why it is important for this wonderful woman to have the RIGHT kind of therapy.... A disorder caused by a traumatic event is not the norm in treating eating disorders, so quite often they get lumped in with those that have a very different psychological problem.... Did I make sense?

Sara,
I think it is like a lot of things, you have to take it one day at a time. I suffer from depression and had to take some time off work a few years ago, I started having panic attacks in the car.
I stayed home for over a month and would not go anywhere in the car.
I finally started out by driving down the road and back home, then to Wal Mart and so on.
I think you are taking it slow and you should be proud that you made it 2 days in a row.
Always remember, your BYC friends are here as well to help you. This world is in rough shape right now and no matter what you believe having faith that you can make it through is important.
Hang in there!

from trauma too.

Ok, so I have to ask. When you had that panic attack, did you do what I did? And drive yourself to the urgent care and go in there panting and sweating and tell them you are dying and you need help? And then get hooked up to an EKG machine just to find out your are perfectly normal? And then sneak out the back door with your Rx? I remember that day WELL!

Yes, you did make sense, I understand a bit about anorexia. I just don't get that these services don't have any understanding behind the problem?

Chilling - you're doing good from what you said. Keep up the good work!

Luna I with you on that one. It seems to me that many agencies that are there to help really don;t have a clue what they are dealing with. I work with the Department of Adult and Aging Services quite often and they have no CLUE what seniors needs are!

I haven't been to the new specialist yet so I don't know how they do treatment. If they put me in lock down it want work, I want agree for treatment. Been there, done that and I still starved myself. Hopefully they have a better out patient program than I'm in now. I will just have to wait and see but I do have good feelings about the whole deal. I hope I'm not disapointed.

Oh, don't get me started on panic attacks! I had my first official one back in 1977, when no one knew what they were, and I went through a zillion tests....long story.
