What is wrong with people?

We have the head stone tipping happening here as well ,plus some get distroyed and they are normally very old and as such they can't be repaired .As far as the real estate agents go ? well it's a common practice for them to watch the obituary postings and then check to see if there are any land holdings that they might get for below market prices by taking a burden off the survivor .......happens all the time .The economy must be pretty bad when people resort to steeling metal for a money venture ! It must be heart breaking for the ones that feel this sort of theft ...a head stone ? what kind of person steels a head stone ? Somehow the respect that was taught years ago towards the dead has been lost somewhere along the way !

In the next town over from where we lived there is a Jewish graveyard with some really lovely marble headstones. People steal those and turn it into counter tops etc. They remove the engraving though and smooth it down so you can't tell what it was. Just a lovely piece of marble, but I won't want that in my house!
I like old graveyards and I could spent hours wandering around them, reading grave stones and wondering about the people buried there. But I have a healthy respect for graves and the dead and I'm raising my child the same way. Doesn't matter how old the graves are. I will not disturb it in any way or walk over it.

Must be a different sect of Judaism from what's popular here many unmarked graves and this in a new cemetery 60 years old I was told it was against their faith and that is why there where occasional mounds of fresh sod but never any head stones
