I don't think I can really help here. I am aware that lavenders are prone to poor feather quality, but I've never bothered to figure out the details.

It will be more than a year before they have a good molt - they are only 2 months old, and their adult feathers are still coming in.

They should replace all their feathers several times in the next few months. Chicks seem to be molting almost constantly as they grow.

So any improvement that would come with molting, should happen by the time they finish growing up all the way. Waiting over a year for the first adult molt will probably not change anything.
