what is wrong with this call duck drake?

The drake's nares are completely clogged with dirt/oil/scabs by the looks of it. I can't even see them. Try to get those opened up so the bird can breathe properly, that would be a good start.

I open them up every day - ends up like that again by the next day - been an ongoing thing, as I mentioned:

My year old rouen drake is having the same problem! His feathers look all raggety and gross too! he doesn't get the mud around his nose though....

Any chance the others are picking on him and not allowing him into the water pan? Be sure the water level is high enough that he can get his bill and eyes in to clear his sinuses...but around his eyes, he looks like he has been fighting to me.

I brought him down - let him swim in the tub of warm water for about 15- 20 minutes -
cleaned his face - let him dry under a heat lamp - checked the oil gland - did a warm compress on it. . .

Sent him up with his mate in a new pen with just her, some peas and catfood in the food

Hoping he will improve now.

It might very well have been the other drakes were picking on him
