Soft Cat food can be given to it. Any kind of ground meat once cooked. You can even give her goat, lamb, beef if you cut it up in small pieces and cook it until it almost falls apart.
It may sound disgusting to some, but nearly any animal can be cooked and eaten in an emergency.
It comes down to 2 questions.
1. Is the animal flesh poisonous, will it kill you to eat it?
2. If it's not poisonous, you either like how it tastes or not. Can you keep it down, can you stomach it?
But in an emergency, even if I didn't enjoy the flavor, I'd eat it.

If you can catch bugs that the bird will eat, they are high in protein.

PS don't go killing and cooking the wild dogs and cats in the neighborhood just to feed the bird.

I think you could feed a dog or a cat to a chicken if you cooked it for them first.
They'll eat nearly Anything!

I can't remember a reason but I do remember reading that we shouldn't feed them dog food, but cat food was ok.

Protein is protein. And you need to get that little bird healthy and feathered out before winter.

I'm not sure, but I don't think OP has a real Winter to worry about.
