What is wrong with this chick?!?!

This baby hatched this morning and its fluff(?) is different. Its really rough on the back. I have a pic of that chick, then a pic to compare of another chick. Thanks!!

Maybe the chicks feathers didnt grow as long as it should have in the egg.

were the temps in your incubator high or uneven?

Looks like the chick was probably a bit damp in the egg, such that the humidity was a bit high and so it hatched out sticky, so all the feathers are stuck together and is rough b/c it dried up. I wouldn't worry about it.

Hmm, I don't know, but maybe a form of "clubbed down" or wiry down? That's caused by a vitamin B deficiency in the breeder birds...

Wow, thanks! My temps and humidity were pretty even throughout incubation. This is the only chick to hatch like that (out of 16 so far) so it kinda stumped me. How would you correct a vit B deficiency? It just looks to me like maybe they weren't finished growing out. Thanks for all your replies!

I'd think soluble vitamins in the water could help.

I had one hatch like that. It turned out fine. A couple of weeks later I couldn't tell which one it was.
