What is wrong with this HEN?

She is brand new to me. She is a two year old WHITE ROCK HEN. I am new at this chicken thing so I have taken the advice of BYC and quarranteened her. She has only been in this cage for 2 days. It looks like her feathers are coming off in the cage. I am looking for a larger cage for her, but this is the best I can do for now. Is she loosing the feathers because of stress or is this what 2 year olds do?

My guess is she's pulling her feathers out because she is in too confined of a space. Get her into a bigger pen as soon as you can.

She might be molting.

Unless there are any other symptoms, molting. Sudden changes can bring on a molt, plus this is a time of year that many birds molt. Definitely better now than in December.

She is probably molting. But she does need to be in a larger cage or run.
