As I said before, frostbite cannot have anything to do with it..........he is not out side. He is in a garage where I have 2 heaters going and it never gets really cold in there. I think maybe the galvanized bottom on the waterer could be a possibility but I think the comb looks a little off at the back part of it. I guess I will have to keep a close eye on it and use the bag balm for dryness. My house chicken has the most beautiful nice puffy, waxy comb by comparison.
