My daughter showed her cross breed rooster (part coching/part seabrite). We took him Tuesday morning to the local 4-H fair as just one of the 12 chickens she took. He was fine Wednesday and was judged Wednesday morning. Thursday morning when we got there he was sleeping and we didn't think much about it, we gave him food and fresh water. Thursday afternoon a friend that had her goats by him told me he had been sleeping all day and asked if he was ok. When I went to check him out, he tried to walk, but was on his tip toes (like something was wrong with the pads of his feet) he would go a couple of steps and lay back down on his legs, I checked the pads and nothing looked wrong.
We brought him home Thursday nite and brought him in the house so that he wouldn't have to face the preditors out side. Today, still walking on his tips and would only take a couple of steps and then lay back down on his legs.
We really have a special place in our heart for him and don't want to have to put him down. Does anyone have any suggestions on what it may be or what can be done to make him better? At first we though heat stroke, but, there were some things that just didn't add up! So, any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you, Rhonda
