What is your chickens' favorite treat?

I thought mine loved BO sunflower seeds until my son went into the coop with french fries. Needless to say he did not get any and they practically ran him over to get them.

~my ladies LOOVVEE the bolted cauliflower & broccoli ( it bolted while we were in Alaska, the kids taking care of the place didn't realize they could pick the broccoli too ~ or maybe they just didn't like brocoli, lol)

~ They also go CRAZY over cobs of corn, especially if there is a bug or two in there!

* One of mine really likes the red milo (sorghum) seed out of the scratch mix. It's one of the few things she will go out of her way to pick out. The other hen is still too much a nibbler for me to figure out what she's picking at. Doesn't seem fond of BOSS, though, which kinda surprises me.

Oats, dog food, cat food, left-overs, and I dont even try to walk outside with a sandwich in my hand anymore and expect to keep it, I had one hen (guess which one) actually jump in my lap and take the toothpick outta my mouth! Then she got mad and started bawkin just as loud as she could cuz she couldnt eat it, I guess. So I caught her a grasshopper to shut her up. It worked!

Mine loves cooked rice, its sticky and gets on their beaks!! They go crazy over it and also goes crazy trying to get it off of.



Also whatever I seems to be chewing, they tie me down and try to take whatever is in my mouth

anything in the basket that i carry into the coop, they love everything i put out, I just try limit it to just a snack though.

I am very new to chickens, so I have been testing what they like. Mine seem to like tomatoes the best of all. If I put out a mixture, the tomatoes are the fist gone. Sometimes I toss in a misfit tomato or two from the garden and watch them go at it. Even my little Silkie will fight her way among the giants for that.

I have printed the Treat List, and will try lots of different things now. I teach school and one of the boys said I should go buy some night crawlers at the bait shop and toss them in. He said they go crazy for those.
