what is your chicken's weirdest treat?

My favorite quote from Howard Mohr’s How to Speak Minnesotan:
“. . . What you feed the chickens is chicken feed. Chicken feed is basically the same the world over; it’s what most people say they won’t settle for. Chickens can make meals out of table scraps, crickets, spiders, worms, and can even thrive on the undigested portions of other farm animals’ waste products. Chickens are good to have around -- they’re a walking lesson for us all. . .” [“Feed” pages 38, 39]

Ours have really enjoyed a few frogs too. Yesterday my daughter was out back watching our two hens grazing when she let out a blood curdling scream and began bawling. It seems a baby frog had become the latest snack for the two of 'em. (Wife - "Are they eating the good animals?" Me - "Now don't even start with that...")

Ours enjoyed a watermelon - right down to just a paper thin shell remaining - and have also gotten into Kashi puffed cereal. Yesterday and today I snuck them some leftover Taquitos - you'd think they'd died and gone to hen heaven!

Ours also like to jump in the rabbit hutch and eat the rabbit pellets, while the rabbits jump in the chicken run and eat the chicken pellets.

Oh, and my wife's cherry tomatoes. The current score is Hens 2, Cherry Tomatoes 0.

Mine love a mixture of fresh blueberries and blackberrries (we have LOTS on our bushes this year), a shredded bun, an egg yolk (if I'm feeling nice

), crushed egg shell, grapes, and sometimes watermelon. It looks absolutely revolting, but they go nutso over it!
