What is your favorite breed of all time and why?

Mine have done well even in cold temperatures.
I cannot imagine not having any Australorps.

I love my LF Dark Cornish. They don't lay too well, but they are excellent meat birds and good foragers.

The girls have very pretty lacing when bred properly. This girl's background coloring is too light for me to make her a breeder, but she has very nice lacing.

Mine stopped laying wile it was raising the chicks, but when it went back to laying it layed 1 egg EVERY day for 4 months strait!

My favorite breed would probably be the Sultan. I know they are not good for much anything food wise, but their stupidity makes them absolutely hilarious. The one that I have is super sweet and runs to me every time I walk outside.

Speckled Sussex meet all your requirements. And they're gorgeous! Obviously to get them tame & friendly you have to interact with them daily from day old chicks.

My favorite egg layers are probably Easter Eggers (EE). They lay blue or green eggs and come in many different feather colors. Some can have muffs while some do not. They are docile and great with kids!
