What is YOUR favorite breed of chicken and why?

New Hampshires-Bramas-Wyandottes-Ameraucanas. These are all my favorites. All have good dispositions,lay lots of eggs and are just nice eye candy.

BSL = black sexed link (not a breed, a cross.)

Favorite is kraienkoppes -- very gentle, tame and friendly, lay a decent egg (probably medium to large) when they are laying, wonderful broodies and mamas, feed consumption not as much as most large fowl but they are not bantam, they are LF.

I don't think blue black splash is a breed, either, it is a color.

I just love my buff Orphington. She's so puffy and sweet. She lets my kids carry her around the yard, loves to take a bath and get blow dryed afterwards . . .and I can see her all the way across the yard because she's so bright orange!
