What is your favorite. breed of Chickens and Why

I like my Dominique's personality, but she lays eggs smaller than I want.
Oh okay, I'll keep that in mind, thanks! Mine are only six months old and their eggs are still small because they are young. Hoping they will get larger as they mature. Right now they* are the same size as my EE pullets the same age. We'll see how they compare as they grow.

*ETA Talking about the eggs here, not the birds

I mainly care about the egg size because I'm wanting to sell eggs and my preliminary research suggests that people prefer larger eggs like they'd get from the grocery store.

Buffalo is a nice, calm bird who gets on well in the flock.

I like the name Buffalo, what made you pick that for a name?

I've mainly given my chickens food names. I named the Dominiques for various kinds of Boar's Head chicken lunchmeat (I'm a deli clerk). I had Buffalo, Classic, and Everroast and when it came time to pick who to sell and who to keep I liked Buffalo best.

Thank you that's hilarious.

My folks, when they moved to the country, obtained three rabbits with the intention of fattening them up to eat. My mother, a sensitive soul, insisted Dad and my kids absolutely not name them. Sure you can name them, I told her. That one's Breakfast, that's Lunch and that's Dinner!

My favourites so far have been the brahmas. They loved to be outside in the winter, produced eggs year round, would follow the kids around the yard and even walk them to the school bus. They were so friendly and outgoing. We had to give away our flock when we moved. Right now I just have Easter eggers and a few RIR's but I'm getting a bunch of brahma, cochin, and GLW hatching eggs later this month. So excited.
where did you move from?
