what is your favorite breed?

I love the Araucanas with their rumpless little backsides, their ringmaster tufts on the sides of their faces, and their fierce little eyes. The fact that they lay blue eggs doesn't hurt either.

I think they look like little dinosaurs running aroung the yard.

Orpingtons, I have lavendars, buff and b/b/s and all are sweet and friendly and docile.

I also love my Black Copper Marans, however, they are a little more high maintenance but wonderful to watch.

I'm partial to my Dominiques. They're docile, winter-hardy, nice egg layers, and a nice dual purpose bird (if you're interested in processing).

I have had 30-40 different breeds of poultry, but right now my favorite is the Welsummers. I have found them to be very attractive, friendly, easy to work with and layers of nice eggs. Mine are spoiled rotten and will stand next to the gate when they see me, waiting for me to open the gate so they can do a little free ranging.

EEs for sure! They come in so many different colors. My favorite part about them, is when they're roosting up high, and they look down at you. Their little beards look like big smiles!

so far i have chosen 2 breeds, wellsummer, and orpington. (already have EE's,RIR's,cochins, and australorps) keep 'em comming.
