What is your favorite breed?

We had chickens with our neighbor and I fell in love with Wyandottes and Buff Orps.... I made sure when we got chicks of our own this year to get one of both.

So far, my little Lily Americana is just as sweet as they come. She flies up onto my arm when I go into the run. The Red/Blue Laced Wyandotte is super lovey/friendly too... Barred Rocks continue to be the most curious out of the bunch! I just love them all though

I have fallen in love with my Silver Laced Wyandottes. I just bought a new flock for breeding next year and I also have 17 Blue Laced Red Wyandottes in the incubator. They are gorgeous and very sweet birds. I have one SLW that roosts 6 feet off the ground and she waits for me every morning to take her down with my hand. She climbs on and hops off. Great birds

I would have to say the Golden Campine.

Mine were adopted from someone who didn't want them anymore. They are all a year or older. Don't lay a lot of eggs but they are a joy to watch.

Claudia, the larger female, is so funny. She can make the dust fly. It is hilarious to see her take a dust bath, all feet in the air!

Chloe, a slightly petite female, loves to follow my youngest son around. When he goes to throw some scratch, she is right there at his feet flapping her wings and clucking at him for the first bits.

Copper, our handsome roo, is full of vigor. He has tried to mount everything he sees. Tree stumps, the dog, and even my husbands dirty boots he leaves outside the door. He crows non stop day and night.

Never knew that chickens could be so full of personality.

Caliphe But right now my favorite chick (three weeks) out of the bunch is a White Leghorn (who knew?!). She's super sweet and likes to be cuddled. I think that breed tends to be a bit aloof, so I hope she stays cuddly!

I didn't think I would like our White Leghorns either, but one of them, Dove, changed my mind! She is such a sweet little Leghorn. I too hope she stays cuddly when she grows up.

I like Bantam Buff Brahma, Bantam cochin, games, Golden Campine, Australorp( I haven't had one yet...), Silver Lakenvelder, Rho -Arg! There are so many breeds!....I think it is impossible to pick a favorite! I go more by the personality of the chicken. For me, it's easier that way!
