I just have to say brown eggs are my favorite because I only have brown egg layers currently and there is such a variety of eggs from them alone. I do like a nice blue or green egg, too, though.

I got this splash hen from a lady 2007? She laid a pinky purple egg.

I breed her to a frizzle splash who had a green egg gene

My hope was they would create gray egg layer, and they did, below is their baby and her egg.

The blue/gray hen was bred with a BCM, (when she was quite elderly) their baby is Nell 2018?

I like how the gray on the egg is glossy, without powdery bloom. The color is not the bloom.
