I kinda thought so. Thanks! Luckily the younger Australorps seem to get along with the older Marans. They're about to get a young handsome EE mix Roo. He is so wimpy, hope they'll take it easy on him. I will wait til I have 2 days off in a row to be doing outside work, so I will hear if someone starts raising a ruckus.
When I collect eggs in their boxes I get the deep brown and the very light brown. It's all good.

The new Roo, was calling him Dr. Pepper but rethinking that, he is too gorgeous to have a silly name. He's all black with a few gold feathers here & there on his back, they glisten like real gold in the sun. Any ideas for good names? He is a sweetheart.

He reminds me of my EE chunk (goonies). Except chunk has like these really light green hackle feathers think yellow base green. EE roos are beautiful. Mine is the beta though. Luckily the worse my alpha does is run him around. He doesn't pull out chunks feathers or spar him. When the time comes I'd say chunk will make a good alpha when big red is gone.

She's beautiful. Maybe calcium in a small feeder could help. There are times I've gotten birds & was misled about age, she may be older.
My main reason I don't by grown hens..people have no problem rooking you. My family have had it happen more then once me thinks. Think outdoor fleamarket. Thanks but no thanks. I don't understand how someone could charge upwards of 20 for an old non laying hen and say it's laying. I would feel ashamed. I'm 34 and if I pulled a stunt like that my mom would chew my butt.

That's because you were one of the rare few who was taught some integrity and ethics from parents who were actual parents and not just the CG's 'best friend' because that was just the easiest way to do it. It used to be your word, and the way you conducted yourself was a direct reflection on YOU, and if you rooked someone, it was seen in shame, and you WORE that badge of shame for a long time. Today, these next gen narcissists consider it an accomplishment to be proud of when they get over on someone.

Fleamarkets, yah, don't be surprised when the 'deal' you got, is covered in fleas. If that animal is so good, wonderful, great, then why are YOU getting rid of it? It's just a used car with legs.

i have pullet that lays pinkish colored eggs. I also have EE’rs that lay green eggs🤷🏼‍♀️. i thought i posted asked my about EE’rs laying greenish olive eggs or are they olive egger’s but i don’t believe i had any responses , i may not have ever posted it. Since losing my babysister at the end of September my memory is somewhat off.
while i was gone for 6 weeks in fla with her one of my pullets morphed into a beautiful cockers he has a black/turquoise tail feathers, white body and believe black head im gonna post a pic later. Awe rehomed the Ro that turned aggressive to a lady we knew n my husband made sure to let her know how he is. she isolated him when he acted out n then let him freerange with the hens, he is fine now. ( SO FAR🤞)
I believe the cover photo is of dyed easter eggs. Sometimes a hen will lay an egg heavy with bloom making it look purple.
I would love if some of my blue laying EE’rs would lay a purple egg🤞

Sorry to hear about your sister, what happened if you don't mind me asking?

Yah, I can imagine the disappointment when Susie turns into Stanley one day.

Speaking of time out, mine was being a brat again this morning so she is going to be spending a few days in her own little cage area. She is not really laying much anymore so that's not really much of an issue of her not being able to get to the box either.

I have found that sometimes when you do isolate naughty ones for a week then re intro them, it's almost like they are a new bird again and they don't always immediately jump back into that A hole Alpha position and learned a behavorial lesson.

lets hope. id never get rid of her she's too sweet but I wish she'd quit being such a bully to the little ones, well all of them really, but at least she's not violent to them like one of the others I had to actually make 'go away'

Easter Eggers can lay blue, green, and pink, but not olive or any other color unless there's a mix of some other genes there.
