What is your favorite nut to eat and why?

Cashews for sure. I love walnuts and almonds on my cereal though, and pistachios are a nice snack too!

The only way I can get into the hickory nuts from our trees is with a hammer! LOL! Honestly, I do leave most of them for the chipmunks. They're actually ground squirrels, but look very similar.

My favorite is almonds, especially blanched. I love those for snacking! Cashews are good sometimes, too. I like pecans and almonds for baking.

Pistachio, hands down. Delicious and satisfying to crack open.

pistachios are actually not nuts... they're seeds, like sunflower seeds. Anyway, I like Filberts/Hazelnuts best if we're talking roasted/salted. If we're talking raw, I like cracking and eating walnuts. I think they look neat coming out of their shells, and you can do fun crafts with the shells afterwards.

Pecans. I love pecan pie and pecans added to cookies, fruit salad, etc. I love the taste, unlike the bitter taste of walnuts.

Almonds are my favorite nut. I grew up in almond country, and ate them quite often. Now I'm in the land of cotton and peanuts. My sister sent me a batch of almonds some years ago, and I ate them till my mouth broke out. Yummy!!
