I use this site daily, and the poultry press new paper and website and feathersite.com for pictures.

The book I've used the most is an out-of-print book from 1946 called "How to Grow and Produce Your Own Food" by Charles Boff. It has a large chapter on poultry and other homesteading items (i.e. rabbits, goats and a variety of info on gardening). You can look at my BYC page for a couple of pictures. Old fashioned, straight forward and easy to read. However, many BYC'ers wouldn't agree with some of his advice, but I use it more than any other.

I like that one too. I just read it the other day, it only took me a few minutes but I lingered over the pictures!

Childhood memories....

Catherine Goldhammer's "Still Life With Chickens" was very good, and she mentions BYC.

Bob Sheasley's "Home to Roost" Not finished with that one yet, but it is also a very good read.

And I also read "Hen and the Art of Chicken Maintenance" Very funny.
